Pet Stain & Odour Removal. Rochester & Buffalo, NY
We eliminate pet odours deep in the fibre — not just on the surface. Because surface cleaning was never going to be enough.
Why Surface Cleaning Isn't Enough
Pet accidents — especially urine — don't stay on the surface of a rug. They penetrate through the pile, into the backing, and in severe cases into the floor underneath. Once urine dries, the salts and bacteria left behind continue to emit odour — and reactivate every time humidity rises, which is why pet smells seem to get worse in summer or after a damp day.
Spot treatments and enzyme sprays applied at home can help with fresh accidents, but they rarely eliminate the problem completely. The only way to fully address embedded pet contamination is to wash the rug in its entirety — which is exactly what we do.
Our Approach to Pet Odour
Every rug with pet contamination goes through our full 8-step wash process, with targeted odour-elimination chemistry added at the appropriate stages. We treat the contamination where it actually lives — deep in the fibre — not just where it's visible on the surface.
- Pre-inspection: We assess the extent and location of contamination before we begin.
- Pre-treatment: Targeted enzyme or oxidising treatments applied to affected areas before the main wash.
- Full-immersion wash: The rug soaks in our 1,200-gallon wash tub, allowing contaminated liquid to be fully displaced and rinsed away.
- Odour-neutralising rinse: A final rinse with odour-neutralising chemistry to eliminate residual smell at the fibre level.
- Centrifuge extraction: Water and dissolved contaminants are spun out efficiently.
- Post-inspection & sniff test: When dry, we check — your rug should smell like clean wool, and nothing else.
- Re-wash guarantee: If odour persists after the first wash, we re-wash. We don't consider the job done until the rug smells clean.
What We Can Honestly Promise
We'll always be straight with you about what's achievable. In the vast majority of cases, our process eliminates pet odour completely. However, some factors can limit results:
- Very old, repeated, or severe contamination may require multiple washes
- Urine that has reached the rug's foundation or backing extensively may be partially persistent
- Natural dye rugs require gentler chemistry, which can affect how aggressively we treat odour
We'll assess your rug, give you an honest picture of what we expect, and let you decide how to proceed — no surprises, no false promises.
Safe for All Fibre Types & Pets
Our chemistry is selected based on each rug's fibre. Wool, synthetic, cotton, silk-blend — we choose the safest effective treatment for what your rug is made of.
Dogs, cats, rabbits, birds — we've treated contamination from all of them. The chemistry we use is effective against a wide range of animal waste compounds.
